As you may know, the world of education often works in different ways to those of other industries or sectors. Take leaving your educational role, for example. Schools and educational establishments across the country work with specific dates each term by which teachers need to resign by, and these are often referred to as Resignation Days.

There are three dates during each academic year by which educational staff must hand their notice in by to start on a certain date. These may vary in some cases, and so it’s always best to check with your employee regarding the terms of your contract – but for the current academic year we have just passed the second of the three dates, which was the 28thFebruary to leave at 30th April. There is one more relevant date for the 2021/2022 academic year, which is your notice must be given by no later than 31st May to leave at 31st August.

So, as can imagine, it’s been an even more hectic period for us at Applebough Recruitment Ltd, especially with educational establishments across The Midlands contacting us as they have just been given notice that they will be losing staff at the end of April. Plus, we’ve also been in talks with a number of candidates who are looking for educational roles starting from, well, yesterday!
